Had this washer for 3yrs it is a nightmare. Gasket has turned black. Constantly wiping scum out . To add insult to injury the door for the laundry detergent has now just fell off , all the little tabs that hold it on place just came off. Everytime I call on a problem. No recalls!!!!? Hard to believe. This is not a quality product. Pretty sure they gave the builder a good deal. They probably bought a ton of them to put in new build. They stink. Let's not even speak about the matching dryer! All in all this set should have never passed quality control.

This washing machine broke after just 3 years of use and now I find out that it cannot be replaced because this model has been discontinued and in fact I can™€™t find any front loading washing machines made by Frigidaire anymore that would be compatible with the matching dryer that we purchased with it. We are basically being forced to purchase a whole new set. This is very disappointing, a washing machine should last longer than 3 years with regular household use and now we can™€™t even replace it in kind. I would like to Frigidaire to let me know if another front loading washing machine that will be compatible with the matching dryer so I™€™m not forced to buy a new dryer just because their product did not last and they discontinued it. Thank you.

I was given this product from the builder after the new set they gave me chewed itself to pieces after 20 washes. It wasn't assembled correctly at the manufacturer so it tore itself to pieces upon the spin cycle, then that stopped. This replacement set only lasted 1 year before it died as well. The spin cycle quit working. I will never own another Frigidaire appliance again.

Water stays in rubber around door. They expect you to wipe in out after every use. Black scum appears or mold call it what you will. I feel in is a poor design as you can see discontinued. When you call about it, nothing can be done and we will look at it but will have to bill you. I have a dryer also that matches with a flawed design also. Lint trap does not catch all lint unable to remove the remainder do to design. Would not recommend to anyone.

We've owned a pair of Frigidaire washer and dryer for 18 yrs and were very happy with their performance, including ease of self repair of the dryer 3 yrs ago. The new ones are an inch taller which means redoing the countertop, but it needed to be done anyway. Otherwise the new giant washers and dryers would have meant completely redoing the whole laundry area with upper cabinets too. As an empty nester couple, we certainly don't need that extra capacity. Nice to find an alternative.

I bought one of these because of the overall strong reviews I saw online. After having used this for a little under a year, it cleans fine, but has frequent issues with moldy smells, even with following various instructions on how to keep it clean. Most annoying is that at right about a year, the tray where you put soap broke and is not under warranty because it is considered cosmetic which only has 60 days of coverage. $50 part I have to install myself. Wah Wah.

Occasionally it emits a loud buzzing noise when started. I have to shut it off and start it again to get the noise to stop. It also released water onto the floor, but the repairman couldn't find an evident cause. We are crossing our fingers that it won't continue messing up.

We replaced our 17 year old Frigidaire washer with the new model which is under our new gas dryer. Both fit perfectly under a cabinet above. Most new dryers and washers are much taller, so we were fortunate not to have to remove the existing cabinet. I love the new features, the larger door, the time shown to complete the cycle, and the ability to make personal selections for each load. It's made doing our laundry much easier.

Unreliable durability and manufacturing?

We purchased a washer / dryer set 3 yrs ago. This washer model burned out for some reason... during a wash, a louder than normal rumble developed during spin which manifested in smoke coming out of the washer when I opened the door while finding a lot of chewed up rubber door seal gasket in amongst the clothes. I feared I abused the washer (but it wasn't an abnormal load), so we immediately replaced with a new washer of the same model (FFFW5000QW) to match aesthetics and minimize hookup issues (dimensions and electrical). The new one arrived with dysfunctional electronics (diagnosed the day following delivery)... certain washer cycle options (speed, temp, etc.) were not selectable as described in the manual and as our prior washer had worked. This leads me to question the durability of the model and manufacturing quality control in general. We are presently awaiting warranty service of the electronics as the vendor refused to replace anew.
