Good with flaws

I bought this to replace an old unit I had for close to a decade. I am a big fan of Frigidaire appliances and already have a 10,000 BTU in my living room that I love. But this one seems to behave a bit differently than my first one. It is very loud and does not cool the room nearly as much as my old LG unit. Every once in awhile it makes horrible, consistent noise that I would not at all expect from a brand new unit. 80% of the time, it does it's job, but I'm disappointed that it has not lived up to my nearly identical Frigidaire unit in the next room.

Did well it™€™s first season, arrived damaged. No response from customer service

Purchased in April and used daily from June til October. Overall it kept a mid sized living room/kitchen with high ceilings comfortable. It is rather loud, but not more so that other acs. The unit was badly dented during shipping. Some screws popped out and the back won™€™t attach bc of the dent. I contacted customer service a few times but they never responded. Terrible customer service. No choice but to keep it as the only way to initiate a return is to contact/email customer service.

This ac unit cools our living room and kitchen with no problem ( 340 square feet). Installing in the window was easy. Some may comment on the noise level but keep on mind every ac unit makes noise. This one can be kept on eco mode all night and not disturb us.

Keeps our bedroom nice and cool, even when it's 113 degrees outside. I especially like the different modes. I use it in Cool Mode when sleeping so the fan continues to run even when the compressor turns off (I have to have some low white noise when sleeping....tinnitus). Then switch it to Eco Mode when I wake up to save electricity.

Our similar 18 year old window A/C suddenly quit recently and we needed to replace it ASAP in order to sleep comfortably. This unit cools the room very well and is somewhat quieter than the previous one. We've only had it for a couple weeks so I held back on giving 5 stars.

This is my second Frigidaire window AC unit The one that this replaced was a LRA074AT7. A 6500 BTU unit. That one I purchased around 2005. I purchased the 8000 Btu Frigidaire last month. This unit cools off very fast. The greatest point is the remote, which has a built in thermostat, which you can use. So where ever the remote is placed that is where the temperature is sensed. Sleep feature, timer feature, the all work great. I am glad that purchased another Frigidaire AC. In South Florida you need a good AC

I can't believe how noisy this little ac is. No matter how well it cools off a room - it is difficult to relax or sleep with this machine running so loudly - even on the lowest setting! Tried troubleshooting it to no avail. Will return and upgrade for a quieter model.

I only use this in our bedroom which is about 150 sq ft. It take A couple of hours before it can cool down to 10 degrees from the initial temperature of our room. I sealed every nook and niches of our bedroom but it still doesn™€™t cool down efficiently and effectively enough for the price point. And FYI this is only a 1 week old unit!!!

Bought this last month - the AC unit itself was pretty easy to install and is not too heavy. I managed to do it myself (though not advisable...). The AC cools as it should and, when on the lowest temperature setting, really spits out some cold air. The remote sensing doesn't work at all. My remote always says 4-5 degrees above what I'm set at and turns the AC off. Which is ultimately fine because I think the remote is wrong anyway.The main issue (and the reason for the missing star) is the occasional buzzing, clicking sounds, which seem to occur when it is particularly humid outside. I'm not good at sleeping with noises like that, so sometimes I have to use earplugs.

Bought this in May 2020 just as the weather began to warm up. AC sufficiently cools my 320 or so square foot bedroom. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the limitations of the movement of the vents. While it moves up, left and right; I just think the movement is a bit limited. Love the different settings available. But overall good product that serves it's purpose.

The AC unit works well for my 400 sq ft studio. It cools the living room and open kitchen quite well. I just wish it could be a little bit more quiet but I use it to block a loud street noise. The only reason I'm giving it 4 starts is because of the noise level. But based on my research this was one of the quiet window AC units in my budget.

CAUTION! Think carefully before ordering this unit. At this price point it should be something spectacular. It is NOT. I was personally drawn by the idea of the remote thermostat, which is indeed included. However, the technology used is so far out of date it is laughable. Using the same principle of your old fashioned TV remote (vs. say, wifi) the remote must have a direct line-of-site to the ac unit to keep "communicating" with each other. OTHERWISE, YOU HAVE AN EVERYDAY 8000 BTU DIGITAL AC UNIT! Additioanlly, the blower is unnecessarily loud at all speeds. This does provide excellent airflow, which may be a benefit for those in larger rooms. The unit does cool a large room very fast and does maintain an 80 setting very well. I cannot attest to any other setting as 80 is my preference living in SW Florida. The EPA may like the back of the unit filling with water to "splash and cool" the coils, I DO NOT. Mold and gunk builds up real fast and makes the air smell very bad, so I will be drilling a drain hole asap. Frigidaire made great freezers and fridges for years, really should have stuck with one thing. Do one thing and do it well. NEVER should have ended up with Electrolux. Like so many once great company's, well, enough said. Think Twice on This.

A little loud but cools great.

Replaced 5500 BTU master room unit, which was challenged to cool room, with this one. This unit has more than enough cooling and great control features. The only disappointment is the loudness of the slow speed fan. But all in all it is well worth the money. I purchased this because I have a 15000 BTU unit of the same brand that I absolutely love as it cools the main floor of our 1898 house.
