I purchased this unit, and the matching 12,000 BTU unit 2 years ago.No issues for the first two summers. Blew cold air, and worked like a champ. Unfortunately, in year 3, it started blowing a dedicated 15 Amp breaker. I pulled the unit to clean the condenser. That's when I discovered that it is surrounded by a plastic shroud. I could see with a flashlight that the coils inside the shroud were covered in dirt/dust, but there was no access to that area and it's blocked by the fan. I cleaned it, but it took 5 times longer than any other condenser I've ever cleaned. Just an FYI. That shroud is was very bad design.

I bought the ffre15l3s1 model. Extended warranty also purchased.2days after warranty expired, unit quit working!!! Very upsetting.500.00 wasted!! No one at Frigidaire would talk to me!

I bought this unit 2 years ago, and it's already far less cool Almost a waste of time to turn it on if it's hotter than 90 outside It blew ice cold the first few monthsNo one will charge it, they all says it's junk and just throw it away like a bic lighter

After some issues with our central unit, we decided to get this one as a cheaper alternative. It is working fantastic! Love the filter change alert. Using the econ mode and auto fan, it didn't do much of a difference to our electric bill. Super happy!

I need something to air condition my place and this unit does the job with no problem at all! The feature are great! Remote works like a charm, I can have it maintain the temperature where I am sitting with the remote with the remote sensor on.Extremely happy that I purchased this unit over the other air conditioners I researched.

I live in a small one bedroom apartment in downtown Chattanooga. The building was built in 1929. It has very thick brick walls, and the windows are original metal frames with plate glass. Summers here in Chattanooga get very hot & humid. I have an old 10,000 BTU window unit in my bedroom which does a pretty good job with that 175 sq ft room. I had another 10,000 BTU window unit to cool the remaining 475 sq ft of my apartment, and it never stood up well to our hot summers. It finally died, and I wanted to make sure I replaced it with a unit strong enough to keep me cool through a long hot summer. The building maintenance man asked that I get a unit that will run on a 115v line. This unit with 15,100 BTU was the highest BTU rating I could find that would run on 115v. That wasn't enough to make a decision; I also read a lot of reviews. I read many reviews on this unit, and other 15k BTU units by this, and other brands. Price was also a factor in my decision. This model had good reviews, and it was available for a great price. Installation took a few hours partly in just making sure to carefully follow the instructions; and partly to make adjustments to install into a metal frame window with a hard concrete window sill. I've had the unit installed now for going on 2 months. I got my first electric bill for a full month of it's use. Even though it's a more powerful unit than the one it replaced; I'm staying cooler, and I'm using about 13% less electricity compared to the same month last year. Today the heat index outside is 99º, and I'm keeping cool inside at 71º. I'm very very pleased! Remote sensor is cool too. Word of advice: If you live in a hot humid environment like my home in Chattanooga, and you like your home chilly cool, don't trust the recommended BTU guidelines when buying a unit. Go up a range, or two. If I followed guidelines I might have just gotten a 12k BTU unit, and I doubt it would have been powerful enough to get me the cool 71º I have today with the intense heat outside.

Bought and installed this air conditioner in 2017. It has probably no more than 30 days of use and the first time I turned it on this year the fan bearings are shot. Frigidaire offered to replace the part but not the service. I would have to bring the unit that weighs over 100lbs to a service center and pay for diagnosis and labor, which could very well be close to what it would cost to buy a new unit.

Bought this to replace same model that got black mold in the fan compartment. I couldn't clean it all so I replaced it. I sprayed the new one with a mold killer. Hope this one doesn't get it too.

We bought this as a back-up unit for our central unit. We have a whole house generator for when the current goes out but the central unit puts a strain on the generator so this unit will cool 2 rooms where I will be on oxygen 24/7 if the current goes off.

We replaced our 15000btu unit with this one two months ago and are thrilled. This unit is MUCH quieter than our old unit, and still blows strongly! We have been able to set the thermostat at a 75 instead of 78 and still save money over what we were paying with our old unit.

Working well since purchased a month ago. I am curious if it will last as long as my previous unit, 9 years, made by a different company. The installation instructions were clear and easy to follow. I did have to grind down the bottoms of window support brackets to clear the window ledge. One of the cabinet seals was damaged when the chassis was put into the cabinet at the factory.

I have had this New air conditioner for 1 1/2 months during a serious heat wave. The unit is suppose to cool 850 feet, which is the size of my open loft style dining room & living room. I have to have the unit on 60 for at least 3 hours to get only half of the space cool ( not cold). I was expecting much more for the price and size!!!

The unit performs well. However I am disappointed in the outer design. The casing has no drain port built into the AC unit. The AC depends on evaporation to evacuate all the condensation from the unit, which I do not like. Other than that, the AC performs well, cools our two room area that we required the large output for.

My downstairs is 714 sq. ft. and it takes the humidity out keeping the house comfortable. It has kept up well with the space of the downstairs as it™™s not running constantly. I also love the remote temperature sensor, so whatever room I am in I am guaranteed to be comfortable!

i bought 2 of these units. One for upstairs and one for downstairs, They keep the entire house cool and comfortable. I can use the remote to turn them off if it becomes too cold (which it sometimes does even when it's above 90 outside!). it's the most powerful AC that has a 115 plug which I needed. The only minor ploblem is that it takes a few trys to direct the air flow but that wouldn't stop me from recommending it or buying the same unit again.

I bought this a month ago, and am very pleased with the performance and features. I suffer from severe allergies, so I love the air purifier option on it. It cools wonderfully, and the temperature sensing remote is a great feature as well. It senses the temperature where the remote is, and the energy saving setting works from that. With the well thought out installation portion of the included manual, and the variety of ways to secure the unit to your specific windows and circumstances, it was a breeze to replace what we had. This FFRE1533S1 has almost 1000 BTU more than what we replaced, takes up a smaller width AND height, sticks out side of our home less AND has an outside 'shroud' -- chassis-- shell-- whatever... that imparts confidence as to it's build quality. It's super easy to slide the unit in and out of the shell after install for general seasonal inspection. They call this unit a step up from consumer, as 'pro-sumer', and I agree.It hasn't made any strange noises that would indicate that it may need to 'settle in for a while' ... or be readjusted. The cool way that the air-flow can be infinitely redirected on each side AND up and down by two manual scrolling vectors is unique to me. I like it. All AC's should be like that. This AC started out quiet and still is weeks later. The 'remote sensing' feature is a plus to help the unit cool down rooms that may not be in it's immediate vacinity... granted that you leave the remote where you want it after you activate this feature!! It appears that the FFRE1533S1 will cost less to run that what we had. Nice all around.
