I love my new speed Queen washing machine! It seems to wash clothes more efficiently and faster than any other washing machine I've had before. It is very easy to use, simple knobs, very clean clothes! The only problem we have had so far is that the door lock mechanism fell apart. My local dealer had the part within a week and fixed it quickly. Everything totally under warranty and done well. I would highly recommend this machine! I'm hoping it will last many years.

Next to the "old Maytag" seems to work well. What I don't like about it is the lid locking; I like to make sure all the detergent is swished around before adding clothes. I don't like that sometimes the fabric softener gets on clothes. And I'd rather have control of when the wash starts, like I did with my old Maytag; I like to soaks some clothes before the wash.

Overpriced for quality

Washer and dryer are basic which is what I wanted but the dryer compares to any other dryer and has less setting for the money you pay. The washer does its job but using the eco mode that is suggested for normal wash does not get clothes as clean. You need to use heavy duty for even basic stains. If you are running what you feel is a large wash and cut that in half and that seems to be what the machine can handle and will clean well. Overall construction seems well but for what the machines do I feel they are overpriced.

One morning I felt a sudden shift in the earth as if it stopped spinning. Sure enough, my wife came in and said, "The washer broke." So my previous thought was correct. Broken washer/Earth stopped. I called my buddy, just get a Speed Queen Commercial - Residencial. You have one in stock? How many do you want. I only need one to make her happy. When do you want to pick it up? Send me a purchase order. So now? Yes! Long story short. Got it hooked up and leveled. My world is spinning again. She loves it. Apparently, it's a good tool. Highly recommended! Not a lot of bells and whistles, but apparently a workhorse. It's not that I wouldn't, but she says don't even think about touching the laundry. I guess her Lululemon don't go with my Carhartt stuff?

Had nothing but trouble out of my washer. It's been a complete nightmare. It's been worked on around 10 times since purchased in a year. We have the digital set. Biggest mistake we made. If I had to do over I would have bought the plain Jane set. I can't remember the exact numbers on them. It breaks my heart i paid this much for them and they act up every other week. Sound Furiture where I purchased from comes right out to fix them if all possible. All my life I heard nothing but good thing about "speed queen" I grow up and get to purchase one and this happens -- never again. I'll stick with Lowe's shopping lol

Works okay but exhibits glitch

Washer works fine but has a glitch where the lid lock light blinks every 4-5 minutes. Unplugging the machine and plugging it back in fixes the issue until it's operated again. This is a brand new machine. Local dealer is working to order parts for repair. This is disappointing for a machine of a premium price and supposed high quality and reliability.

I think speed queen makes a good product. However, on the new washer there are features I don't like. The auto water level, is either too much or not enough water. Aren't adequate options, for instance medium fill, for water level. Also, agitation is not as good, clothes don't seem to get as clean. I will need to call for service, as when I set water temp on warm, it is no different than when I use cold

Bought a Speed Queen to replace a Kenmore purchased in 1999, it lasted almost 26 years. Hoping to get the same performance from SQ. Most machines are this way now, they have electronic circuit boards, but I almost prefer the mechanical controls from the past. Not crazy about the "perfect wash" feature in which the tub, but not the agitator moves, but I will give it a chance before saying any more. The one thing I do not like, is the lid lock--thinking about having it removed or overridden. I don't need a machine locking a lid when I might want to watch it work. SQ has a model without lid lock but that one didn't have water level selections and that was a deal breaker. I was surprised to see that a heavy duty cycle with the heavy soil button pushed, took about an hour and 10 minutes to complete.
