quit working

after 4 months of service the bluray player quit recognizing a disk in the unit. l used disks that had been played before but no luck. Tried turning unit on and off, unplugging and replugging, still no response.

Good value, could use a few tweaks

I have had my "smart" blu-ray for 2 years, and overall it has been very good. My only complaint is that I have to start it by physically pushing the button on the set several times until I hear it clicks, and then the screen comes up. It would also be nice if there were a light on the front showing that it is on.

The blue ray player functions as advertised. However, I continue on having difficulties when I turn it on because it does not have a turn on LED light ON. thus I am not aware of the ON/OFFstatus Otherwise, it has simple operational apps display and easy to set up.

Don't waste your money. It only works part of the time, loses WiFi signal, freezes up, I constantly have to unplug and re program it. No indicators so you can't tell if it's on or working at all. Already sent back once, their fix helped for a while but now it's worse than before. Only about 6 months old and worthless.

Extremely easy to setup, and just the right sort of "smarts" to interact with our Samsung TV. Put in a DVD -- that automatically starts the player, turns on the TV and switches the TV's input to the player. We have perused some of the apps available and expect we'll use Amazon Prime regularly. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note tablet, and the BD-J5900 provides easy-to-engage screen mirroring to the TV, including disabling the speakers on the tablet and projecting the sound to the TV speakers.

This product can replace your Roku

If you do not have a "smart TV", this player would be a good addition. We were getting access to Netflix using a Roku device, but now all we need is to go to the input from the player instead. Not to say Roku is not great. We loved it. Now it is just unnecessary.

Very good price and features. Have only had one problem in that it will not play all my videos I have on home network. May be a compatability problem. Some of the files work with my Smart TV and another BluRay player. It seems that what one player plays, another does not.

Was hoping this unit would be a good one , But it is not. Unit runs for a while then stops and you have to unplug it, reboot, then go again . Other wise it will not come on if you turn it off by power button. Hard to tell if unit is on or not cause there is no lights on unit. Will be sending back soon as can call and get a return number.

Problem with player

Player froze, nothing worked. Could not find an answer to the problem online. Called and was told to hold Pwr button on player, not remote, for three secs and eject disc. This fixed problem. This must be a common problem with this model. There should be a pwr indicator on player.

I won this DVD player in a local paper contest and my sister was excited since she owns several Samsung tv's and audio products. I love the simple connections ( there are only three ports!) the ability to use wi fi or an the net connection in the back. Its about 12 inches square and for such a compact unit it performs flawlessly plus it has 3d! For the price and the features its a bargain you can't refuse to try. You tube- Amazon- Red Box-Netflix it works with them all. You need to try it and see it for yourself..

Connected to my Samsung T.V.. Sound is excellent, easy to operate on the Samsung t.v.. Only had for 3 weeks. I have not tried to connect to another brand of t.v. The only thing I don't like is that it has on way to tell if it is on or if it is connected to the wifi.

I've had the BD-J5900 Blu-ray Player now for about 2 weeks and I can truthfully say it is fantastic. Haven't used all the features on it, as I have it paired with my Samsung Smart TV and most of the internet features of the Blu-Ray are on the Smart TV. Viewed a few 3-D movies using it and along with the TV it is truly one of the bet 3-D picture I've seen to date. Only draw back I have is that it should have a power light. That's why I only give a 3 for design. Otherwise a great product, easy to setup, easy to control and GREAT 3-D and normal Blu-Ray picture quality. The included 3D glasses are also easy to wear and good clarity.
