No Compatible Subwoofer

https://www.samsung.com/us/televisions-home-theater/home-theater/sound-bars/hw-n400--tv-mate--soundbar-hw-n400-za/ this link is very misleading because there are no subwoofers compatible with the product hw-n400. even after purchasing the rear speaker system swa-8600 the sound still needed more bass, but samsung customer service confirmed there is no subwoofer that will connect to either the soundbar or rear speaker system. sound is ok, but i am disappointed it cannot be enhanced by adding a subwoofer. i am very surprised samsung would produce and sell a sound system with no subwoofer capability for customers who desire the added bass tones.

Worked great for 6 months

easy installation, and worked good for the first 6 months, then started losing connection when wired with the optical cable. had to pair it with the samsung tv several times.. did this for a couple of months, so decided to try the hdmi connection which worked great for about 10 days, then sound stopped working and i was getting a "not available" when trying to run setup on the tv.. after multiple times of trying to get it to work again, just decided to trash it and get another brand.. there was a code upgrade that was suppose to fix the intermittent dropping off of the sound bar, but the usb port seemed to be defective as i couldn't get the usb cable plugged in to it.. so not too impressed with this..

Works fine, until it doesn't anymore

purchased my soundbar in feb 2019. a few days ago, all of a sudden the audio output on the soundbar stops. no rhyme or reason. spent days troubleshooting with no resolve. after several confusing calls to samsung. i was given a number and a ticket to call the out of warranty center. i was quoted a $80 oow repair cost (upfront). asked the rep if there was anything that could be done considering the unit is 18 months old; nothing. the price of the bar online is currently $199.99. the fee is disproportionate to the msrp. now i'm stuck with it.

MUDDY SOUND need treble adjustment

this thing has been bad since day one i kept hoping that i could find a way to hear the upper tones but it's so bassy and i can't find a way to hear dialogue better. bass has toggle adjustment and i can't figure out how to adjust the treble at all even though you can pull it up in a menu, i don't know which button makes it go up and down i haven't found anything that works yet.

Great little soundbar and easy set up

Purchased this soundbar from Best Buy on a sale for a steal of $100. My bedroom tv was recently wall mounted to save space, but all the audio would project down the hall way because of the rear firing speakers. This solved all my issues. Connected via the HDMI ARC and boom...excellent sound of the price and seamlessly works with my Samsung TV so only one remote is needed for my whole set up now. I only wish that this soundbar was more of a slim profile or smaller since it's not intended to fill a huge room for a movie theater experience.

Bluetooth nightmare--even with Samsung TV

I wanted ZERO Bluetooth compatibility problems, so I shopped only Samsung soundbars to go with new Samsung TV. And this soundbar fails Bluetooth function. First, the Sound Mode on TV intermittently grayed out if speaker did manage to connect--sometimes I could, and other times I could not, change from 'standard' and 'surround' using Samsung universal remote. Upon contacting chat, I was advised only the soundbar remote could perform that function. This is false since I previously had capability and even set equalizer levels with universal remote. Now, the soundbar un-pairs EVERY time TV is powered off for extended period of time. Upon contacting chat again, they advised to use HDMI cable--NOT a solution. I so want to return this but movers erroneously threw away packaging.

Great sound - no wifi, no ios app, sync issues

The sound quality is excellent but I'm stuck to 2 remotes my Sony TV and Samsung sound bar. 1. It is not Google Home compatible - i.e. it cant get on the home wifi network. 2. I cant control it with my iphone - it requires android device for blutooth control 3. I connected with with Optical cable and there is a sound sync issue that does not go away even after I used the sync settings

Decent Sound, TV Remote Compatible, Mounting issue

I have a 32" Samsung Smart TV in a room with exercise equipment. When using some of the equipment I had trouble hearing dialogue clearly through the standard TV speakers. Rather than spending twice the amount for a TV with better sound quality, I added this sound bar to resolve that issue, which it has. I bought this on sale at Best Buy, and as a price match. A pretty good deal. I can control the volume and power "on" (but not "off) with the TV or cable remote and I can stream Bluetooth devices. The biggest issue is that the mounting bracket screw holes on the bottom of the sound bar are 17 3/4" on center apart, rather than the standard 16". This means only 1 screw could typically hit a wall stud while the other hole in the wall will need an anchor. And, depending on your TV mounting, it may not be able to be centered with your TV (unless you use two wall anchors). So close to this being a 4-star or higher item but this is actually an issue so it gets only 3-stars.

excellent sound

bought this to replace an older unit. our living room is 600 sf and we can hear it well from the dining area. taking awhile to get used to it turning on when we turn on the tv, does not sync with our tv volume. as we forget and turn on the 8 speaker sound system we have had for years. It was also on terrific sale.

Works but wrong input

So I have my tvio going HDMI in to the sound bar and then HDMI out to my TV. when I hit power on the TV it turns the sound bar on and I can cahnge sound with my tivo remote but i need the input to be HDMI and it sets it to TV ARC and not HDMI so I still have to use the sound bar remote everytime. why doesnt it turn back on to the last input when I use my tvo remote.

Works Very Well for Dialogue

I call this a great sound bar for senior citizens. It enhances dialogue on all programs. Some actors are prone to mumble and the TV Mate sound bar solves that. It seamlessly hooks up to our Samsung TV and is easy to install.

Good Quality but......

I just purchased and hooked up my soundbar this weekend and was looking forward to all the great new features unfortunately I was a little unhappy. First when I was installing the product on my wall, I was surprised to see that Samsung does not provide screws for installing on the wall. Also, after finishing installation and connecting the Auto Power Link function, the power was only going on. I was surprised to find out after I contacted customer support that the soundbar can only go on with the same remote but needs to be manually shut off with the soundbar remote. Disappointed that it cant be completed with one remote.Sound seems to be OK but doesn't blow me away. I am also finding that some channels seem much lower in volume then others, not sure of this is the soundbar or just the channels. Another disappointment is the placement of the power wires and Optical Cables, there is now where on the soundbar to hide the cables. I expected more from Samsung design. They just hang behind the soundbar. Overall its ok.

Looses connection with TV

Have a 2017 Samsung TV using optical out to the sound bar. Every third of forth time the TV plus Cable box is started up the TV MATE "loses connection" with the TV. Only TV speakers fire even though the TV MATE display says DIN which shows that the input source is correct. Very frustrated as the whole idea was to have like brands to create a seamless integration. Not happy.

Sound Quality And Compatibilty With TV Controls Excellent And Wall Mouting Is Simple

The sound quality is a major improvement over the down-firing speakers in the TV. There is plenty of Bass range. I hear sounds that I never heard before such as the 'whooshing' sound during screen transitions. Since my TV is also a Samsung, the compatibility is perfect. Control of basic soundbar functions (on/off, volume adjust) is managed through the TV and my Comcast Xfinity remote controls. The included wall mounting hardware was perfect for my needs and was easy to install thanks to the mounting hole alignment template provided (be careful not to throw it away as it is tightly rolled into a capsule sized roll of paper). Highly recommended.

this product doesn't have the Bass that was described in the write-up.

I was expecting a unit that would have more Bass than my 6400 Samsung TV. Once I opened the carton and read the instruction set-up manual that talked about having to purchase a Bass unit to have true Bass, I knew it wasn't the unit as described. I will be returning the unit because it lacks Bass and there isn't any mention of Bass speakers. I'm very unhappy with this product.
